by sleepy inlets play a game and assume the bible is true, and jesus came to earth and all that, and what he taught was the truth.
he left responsibility with his 12 apostles to look after his ?sheep?.
a few years later on some guy reckons he has had a vision and has been chosen by god he now as good as takes over the christian congregation and makes many of its rules and writes numerous books with his rules and ideas these are eventually included in the bible, were as the 12 disciples are virtually silent.

Well, You are no idiot...obviously chistianty is an offshoot off the jewish faith. Jw's are a further offshoot off other faiths...You speak of religious ideas that span thousands of years. There is a connection, but it is so far distant and unique that I cannot connect it for you.
For example: there is a big difference between orthodox christianity and jw view of christianity.
The best advice I can give is to START with the jw view, and work your way back.... It will make more historical sense to you that way.

when finished it will be 2005 square feet and one story.. .
in the foreground is the back of the house and in the distance will be the front of the house.

you know, today is different, i have some good memories from years ago, cake after bookstudys, kiddie parties, intermissions, mcdonalds for break at field service.
happy elders who would tease me as a little girl and carry me from door to door.

I also remember (before it was banned) playing sports with fellow jws... baseball in particular. I played baseball everyday with neighborhood families and was quite good at it...
However, when we played baseball with witness kids, girls were expected to act weak and be coy.... That never worked for me...I would smack the ball just as I played normally...Outa there!!!
It sure ticked off the other team, but I did so anyway. Fond memories....There ya go.

I do not have a "happy memory". I am sorry....And welcome to the board by the way, but I dont.
The most positive thing I can say is that I have LESS PAINFULL memories of my time with JW"S>
Basically, the less I had to do with them, the happier I became. I remember attending pitch-in dinners that were boring, and I felt everyone was looking at us all in a strange way (and they were).
I remember that when we all were allowed to meet and "encourage each other" that witness kids couldnt help but judge and make cruel comments such as " you have big teeth"! (I have "buck teeth" and this hurt me deeply).
I remember feeling very alone, and isolated. I remember thinking how "different" we all were expected to be (which contributed to judgement on each others looks etc).
I just dont have a fond memory of my time with the jw's....In general they were judgemental, critical, and mean....Also, the "JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH" got old real quick....
"We stand out" got to be " we are weird" and we dont care who knows it...." we are better than you" I Never accepted.

From someone who is walking daily in those shoes.....
It is heartbreaking for those who must give up so much of themselves in order to retain a valued relationship. You stated very honestly how painful that is.
